January at St Peter's

This January at St Peter's we are beginning a season on our 'Identity in Christ'. This month of teaching is to help us to get to grips with who we are side from what our jobs, roles and achievements say about us.

The bible is really clear that only through knowing our maker, can we really know who we are or how we are valued. Very often in life we allow the assertions of others, or our working titles or our family roles determine our core identity, however, these are always inadequate in revealing who we really are.

The gospel is also one of real transformation, that offers to reshape our identity into the 'likeness of Christ'. This reshaping work is really unique and does not stop at certain age instead it continues on throughout our journey with Christ.

This month every Sunday will look at a different aspect of our identity in Christ and point towards biblical answers and exercises to help us understand and enter into this reshaping process. Next month on the 3rd Feb the Mind and Soul Course will begin here to continue that work.
